Guts’ very first project! Our challenge was a biggie – to promote a festival that was Newcastle’s best kept secret and build a reputation for the University of Newcastle as a leader in animation. Working with our client at UON, Guts multitasked to the max and delivered the branding, direction, marketing and communications strategy, graphic and web design, sponsor engagement, PR strategy and social media strategy and management. We also had the brainwave of the ‘Animate Daniel Johns Competition’ and directed the resulting music video collaboration.
Results: we won a NEWi award for best social media campaign of the year, delivered a sell-out event and free national media coverage for UON. Festival ticket sales increased by 236% vs. last year. Social media reach increased by 354% and engagement by 86%. Phew we need a rest!
